Reverend Richard P. Rogers served as pastor of Gloucester's First Parish (Unitarian) Church from 1854 to 1869. His wife, Elizabeth M. Rogers, was a great-granddaughter of Paul Revere. According to donor Edwin Barbey, Gloucester Harbor, 1859 (inv. 33) was given to Reverend Rogers by Lane.
